Energy meets Battery: Vom Molekül zur Mobilität – Kostenfreie Fachtagung zu Batterietechnologien
Dreitägige Veranstaltung bringt Wissenschaft, Technologietransfer und Industrie zusammen
Vom 01. bis 03. September 2026 veranstalten der Forschungsbereich Energie-Materialien des Leibniz-Instituts für Neue Materialien (INM) in Saarbrücken und das Bundesförderprojekt TraWeBa (Transformations-Hub Wertschöpfungskette Batterie) eine dreitägige Fachtagung im vevio in Spiesen-Elversberg. Ziel der Veranstaltung ist es, den Austausch zwischen Wissenschaft und Industrie im Bereich der Batterietechnologien zu stärken und Akteure entlang der gesamten Wertschöpfungskette miteinander zu vernetzen.
Batterietechnologien zählen zu den Schlüsseltechnologien der Energiewende und der industriellen Transformation. Gleichzeitig stehen Forschung und Unternehmen vor der Herausforderung, neue Erkenntnisse und innovative Entwicklungen schneller in die praktische Anwendung zu überführen. Die Fachtagung setzt genau an dieser Schnittstelle an und bietet eine Plattform für den interdisziplinären Dialog zwischen Forschungseinrichtungen, Unternehmen, Start-ups und weiteren Akteuren der Branche.
Die Veranstaltung ist thematisch in drei Schwerpunkttage gegliedert und findet in englischer Sprache statt:
• 01. September 2026 – Forschung: Aktuelle wissenschaftliche Entwicklungen, neue Materialien und innovative Ansätze in der Batterieforschung stehen im Mittelpunkt.
• 02. September 2026 – Transfer: Der zweite Tag widmet sich dem Wissens- und Technologietransfer sowie der Vernetzung zwischen Forschung und industrieller Anwendung. Desweiteren ist für diesen Tag ein Besuch des INM und ein Abendevent geplant.
• 03. September 2026 – Industrie: Unternehmen erhalten die Möglichkeit, aktuelle Herausforderungen, Praxisbeispiele und Zukunftsperspektiven der Batterietechnologien zu präsentieren und zu diskutieren.
Die Transformation hin zu einer nachhaltigen Energie- und Mobilitätswirtschaft gelingt nur im engen Zusammenspiel von Wissenschaft und Industrie. Mit der Fachtagung möchten wir eine Plattform schaffen, auf der neue Ideen entstehen, Kooperationen angestoßen und innovative Lösungen gemeinsam weiterentwickelt werden können.
Es werden Teilnehmende aus Wissenschaft, Industrie, Wirtschaftsförderung und Politik sowie Vertreterinnen und Vertreter von Unternehmen entlang der Batteriewertschöpfungskette erwartet.

Energy Meets Battery: From Molecules to Mobility – Free Symposium on Battery Technologies
Our three-day symposium brings science, technology transfer, and industry together
From September 1st to 3rd, 2026, the Energy Materials Research Division of the Leibniz Institute for New Materials (INM) in Saarbruecken and the Federal Funding Project TraWeBa (Transformation Hub for the Battery Value Chain) will host a three-day symposium at “vevio” in Spiesen-Elversberg. The goal of the event is to strengthen the exchange between science and industry in the field of battery technologies and to connect stakeholders across the entire value chain.
Battery technologies are among the key technologies driving the energy transition and industrial transformation. At the same time, researchers and companies face the challenge of translating new findings and innovative developments into practical applications more quickly. The symposium addresses precisely this intersection and offers a platform for interdisciplinary dialogue between research institutions, companies, startups, and other industry stakeholders.
The event is organized thematically into three focus days and will be held in English:
- September 1st, 2026 – Research: The focus will be on current scientific developments, new materials, and innovative approaches in battery research.
- September 2nd, 2026 – Transfer: The second day is dedicated to knowledge and technology transfer, as well as networking between research and industrial applications. Additionally, a visit to the INM and an evening event are planned for this day.
- September 3rd, 2026 – Industry: Companies will have the opportunity to present and discuss current challenges, practical examples, and future prospects for battery technologies.
The transition to a sustainable energy and mobility sector can only succeed through close collaboration between science and industry. With this symposium, we aim to create a platform where new ideas can emerge, collaborations can be initiated, and innovative solutions can be further developed together.
Participants from academia, industry, economic development agencies, and politics, as well as representatives from companies across the battery value chain, are expected to attend.
