Technology transfer for SMEs

Technology transfer for SME

Through the ‘House of Transfer’ project, we are developing a central, integrated infrastructure for the transfer of knowledge and technology between industry and research in the Saarland.

Against the backdrop of current structural change – including in the fields of Sustainable Smart Production & New Mobility, Life Sciences & Materials Science, Digitalisation & Artificial Intelligence, and Innovation Management & Technology Transfer – the project aims to provide targeted support to companies in identifying, developing and implementing innovation projects.

At the heart of the approach is an end-to-end, service-oriented transfer model (‘Transfer as a Service’), which supports companies throughout the entire innovation and value chain – from the initial assessment of needs, through the matching of suitable research and development partners, to the implementation and market launch of new solutions.

Key components of the project

  • By establishing a Transfer Knowledge Centre, we are creating a data-driven foundation for the targeted matching of companies, technologies and research partners.

  • At the same time, research and development partnerships are systematically initiated and supported in order to bring specific innovation projects to fruition more quickly.

  • A further focus is on the commercialisation and scaling up of innovations, for example through support with business models, patents and market launch.

  • In addition, through networking and governance initiatives, we are strengthening collaboration between industry, academia and politics, and ensuring that these initiatives are firmly embedded in the innovation ecosystem.

Through close collaboration between the partners saaris, FITT and Triathlon, existing expertise is pooled and systematically developed further.

Benefits for companies

  • Faster and more structured access to relevant technologies and research partners

  • Reduced effort involved in initiating and implementing innovation projects

  • Targeted support with funding and collaboration models

  • Acceleration of transformation and innovation processes

  • Strengthening competitiveness in key future-oriented sectors

Partners

As well as supporting businesses through economic transformation, saaris is coordinating the further development of the innovation strategy on behalf of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Around 80 innovation experts are actively involved in a collaborative participatory process. The aim is to develop concrete action plans setting out measures for areas with potential for the Saarland.
